The Legend of Lucky Cat
The Lucky Cat or “Maneki Neko” is a longstanding talisman representing good fortune and prosperity. While it’s origin is in some dispute, the most famous legend tells the story of a Feudal Japanese Lord named Li Naotaka being beckoned by a calico cat to take rest in a temple when returning to their home from traveling. A violent and dangerous thunderstorm soon exploded overhead, and they credited the cat with their salvation.
We chose the Lucky Cat as our symbol because we believe in making our own luck through hard work and dedication to our craft. The more you sweat on the mats, the luckier you’ll be!
PROGRAMS AND CLASSES
We currently offer Classes 5 days per week for Adults, and 4 days per week for kids ages 5+. All Classes feature an active warm up, specific technique application and drilling, as well as Live Situational Training.
Adult Jiu Jitsu classes focus on more traditional training in the kimono (Gi), utilizing Gracie Jiu Jitsu Techniques in addition to other grappling focused martial arts such as Judo, etc. In these classes you will learn self defense and sport Jiu Jitsu techniques to control and submit your opponents.
Adult No Gi relies less on the grips afforded by the traditional Gi Uniform with a focus more on body control, joint locks, and pinning to achieve submission. These classes will include techniques from Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and stand up, etc.
Kids BJJ similar to the Adult Jiu Jitsu Classes, but focused more on fundamental Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with a fun and accessible twist! Open to kids ages 5+ we learn things like grips, distance management, control and submissions in a safe and controlled environment.
Bully Proof Kids is our take on Kids No Gi. These classes are focused mainly on self defense and bully prevention, but learned through a series of practical games and techniques. Open to kids ages 5+ we learn things like personal space and distance management, how to take down and control a bigger or larger person, and how to get and stay safe in dangerous situations.

WELCOME TO THE LUCKY CAT GRAPPLING COMPANY
We are a group of like minded Martial Artists with over 40 combined years of training the martial arts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, Judo, and other Self Defense and Mixed Martial Arts, looking to bring our own brand of "American Jiu Jitsu" or "Grappling" to our Students.
Grappling is the practice of using your body to control another human. Every culture has their own version of grappling from feet to floor - from Japanese Judo and Jiu Jitsu, Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Greco Roman Stand Up to other combat sports around the world. At Lucky Cat Grappling Co. we take these various disciplines and techniques and simplify them down into a series of comprehensive curated lessons, delivered in a clean and safe environment for Competitive and Hobbyist martial artists from day one beginner, to competitive experts.
